I bought it as a replacement for the M500, which has been proven over the years, I thought M500S, this is an upgrade of my favorite mouse, what could be better? After reading the description on the manufacturer's page, I bought it, and then it was a complete disappointment. The mouse was defective, the side key, when pressed, made an unpleasant loud clattering sound, I have never heard such a thing in Logitechs, but I have been using the equipment of this company for more than ten years. Problems were also revealed with the wheel, with a quick scroll, a serious imbalance was discovered, so much so that it caused unpleasant vibrations that were transmitted to the hand, and it was visually visible that the wheel was moving in a figure eight. Contacted those. Logitech support to see if these issues are covered under warranty. A week of correspondence and confirmed that they are. Then 2 days of running with a replacement, and finally I received a mouse without defects and of proper quality. Hooray, I thought, now we'll set everything up, and especially DPI, one of the main reasons to buy the ated M500 (M500S). On the manufacturer's page, the description says "Set the desired sensitivity level within 400-4000 dpi" and what was my bewilderment when such an option was not found in the settings at all. I had to contact those again. Logitech support is already on this question, to which the answer was given: "In the Logitech Options application, you can only change the cursor speed." A week of correspondence to still get the answer "why is it in the description, but in fact not?" led to this formulaic response. All letters. And this is instead of just writing to me in response something like "there is an error in the description, we will fix it" or "we will finalize the setup program, wait." As a result: If you need DPI control in a familiar package, forget it. If you are considering m500s as a replacement for your M500, don't do it, better buy the M500, which has been proven over the years, because. The M500S is subjectively worse, it looks like the whole upgrade has gone into cheaper production.
