If you need one lens, this would be it. Excellent 18-200mm range and pretty sharp considering it's a zoom lens. It's big and heavy compared to the camera. If you want to stay compact while walking use a 16-50 kit lens but IQ and of course range won't be as good. Cons - Cost around $800 - I got the openbox/demo from stores for about half that. The lens is big and heavy, and if you don't use the lock, the lens will slowly retract (closer) if you point down. If you want to use it with a flash you will need a flash extender as this partially covers the small flash on Alpha cameras. As with other reviews, it can be difficult to focus in low light (especially when zooming in) - no problem in bright light.
