We used this mount for a 55" Vizio TV. The mount isn't big enough for a 55" TV, no matter how it's oriented. It is simply not possible to insert both sets of screws into the TV and attach the base to the bracket. It is *absolutely at least* suitable for a 55 inch TV. There is less than 1/8 inch between the leg and the bottom of the TV and there is only one screw in each bracket. It serves the purpose while fiddling with the TV sitting on the floor, but I would never use it on a table or in an entertainment system. The brackets are held in place with a screw on each side and the weight of the TV keeps these brackets level. If someone pushed him aside, everything would fall. Since I already have it open I'm just going to change the bracket to fit the TV, maybe another piece of sheet metal and lift it up a few inches. Solid design, not a big fan of how the mount slides into the leg/arm but it can certainly handle the weight. If it had been used on a smaller TV I'm sure everything would have been fine. However, it's not big enough for a 55-inch TV as advertised.
