Most size 10 shorts tend to be longer, while these are the perfect length for an 8-9 year old. The fabric is beautiful and so is the design. We washed it 5-10 times and didn't notice any fading. It kind of reminds me of army colors. The waist stretches nicely with activity and doesn't seem to bother our child. The fabric is excellent for hotter and humid climates and does not appear to cause the body to overheat. size It runs true to size, so if your child normally wears a size 10, that should be fine.
