I thought it would be a good present for my mother, she will only wear a digital watch. Unfortunately, it's too dimly lit to see the time unless you're in perfect lighting conditions or when you press one of the side buttons, which dims the screen for 2 or 3 seconds. My mother just can't read the time well enough, these numbers are also quite small. She didn't like the clasp either, she finds it difficult to put on and take off. It's a well made watch and the rubber strap is nice and comfortable, but if it didn't have Kate Spade's name on it I wouldn't have paid $10 for it. I was disappointed in the lack of instructions on how to set the time. , date and alarm clock. I haven't figured it out yet, it's just that sometimes I get lucky and can change one of the numbers. Maybe there is a way to make the screen brighter all the time and I just don't know? This is not a watch I would recommend as is.
