I used this to fit a Kenwood head unit into my Corvette. Kenwood (and some other devices) use a 3.5mm mono jack (Pioneer uses a 2.5mm jack, so don't use that). The mic in my car connects directly to the factory navigation box, so I just unplugged it and connected two wires - the colors even match. In my case, I couldn't easily find a socket for this connector. Instead I took two small solid core wires that fit snugly in the pin holes. I put this harness in that. I inserted these wires and then bent them 180 degrees to the connector. From there I glued them in place and also tied the wires to the strain relief fork so it would never come loose. This is a lot smarter than using a separate Bluetooth mic.
