As an embedded developer, I was skeptical that VANSUNY 256GB Ultra Speed USB Drive would actually work as advertised. However, after several days of testing and real-world use, I found that this is indeed the case. wider than a regular USB drive, it doesn't get very hot or hot, and it fully boots into Windows and Linux too. And now the details. This device is in fact a solid state drive and uses the JMicron SATA/USB interface which allows it to function as a flash drive. It appears to have a 10GB cache that allows it to reach a nominal read/write speed of 400MB/s for small files, and after 10GB it achieves a sustained read/write speed of 360MB/s and 160MB/s. That's not bad and is in line with other inexpensive SSD drives. I tested the device with 10 reads and writes of 80GB files using a 1TB Sabrent Rocket NVME drive, which delivers a consistent read/write speed of 2000MB/s. The VANSUNY drive hardly got warm during the tests and all files were transferred without errors. After that, I installed Windows 10 Professional and then the latest version of Arch Linux, making sure the operating systems started and worked on both physical hardware and virtual machines. to find out how reliable the drive is over time or how long it lasts. However, if I encounter any quality issues in the future, I will update this review.
