A nice option for the money, one of the best deals.

Solid, silent, reliable, large-capacity external HDD from a renowned manufacturer (WD) for storing a large number of files. In my opinion, it is ideal for storing a personal home movie library and series.

    Pros
    • A serious amount of disk space (12 TB) at a nice price (19990 in Amazon). Noiseless at work. Factory formatted to NTFS. Good copy speed (from one USB HDD to another in Windows 10 - about 40 MB / s). Recognized by USB ports of even not new Samsung TVs of 2022 and 2022, for playing video files with their software media players and even an Android smartphone (!) Galaxy via an OTG adapter and the Microsoft exFAT / NTFS for USB by Paragon Software plug-in application for a file manager Total Commander, which allows you to copy downloaded movies and TV shows to this 12 TB drive not only from a laptop, but also from a smartphone, bypassing turning on the PC, which is quite convenient
    Cons
    • Until I noticed Unless it's hard to find Western Digital "screws" of this size on sale, there are only lower quality Seagate: I have a couple of 1.5 and 2 TB disks from this manufacturer have already "died" a sudden "death" in just a couple of years of use for storing film archives connected to the USB ports of TVs - there is no more desire to buy Seagate products, so far only WD and Toshiba hard drives have never failed all the time, but Toshiba does not produce large volumes of 12 or more terabytes, does not produce external "screws" at all, and Western products Why Digital of such volumes has rarely appeared on sale, everyone is hunting for it🙂

I did not regret the purchase, everything is fine.

It would be nice to have a set of stylish stickers to mark discs. Optimally, such as were once attached to my "diplomat": a plastic film black square, on which in a metallized "golden" frame were paired metallized "golden" letters. Yes, in principle, anything can be depicted, if only in one black and gold "glossy style" and in a pair (for a disk and for a Europlug connector)

    Pros
    • I have been working with External HDD Western for a long time. I have (different) more than 20 of them. The first one was bought in 2022. So far, none have failed. True, completely identical disks may not connect to the computer at the same time, although there are no problems with them separately. I think WIN 10 is to blame here. Gradually replaced all working disks from 2 TB to 4 TB. There are no problems with connection.
    Cons
    • The wires on the drives are ill-conceived. The Europlug power connector in the last (your) drive is again wide, which does not allow you to plug two connectors into adjacent extension sockets. They began to make the USB 3.0 cable shorter by 20 cm. So, disks that are far from the computer have to be connected to it through an extension cord.

The product is really good, I'm glad I bought it.

I bought this hard drive to replace the honestly worked 12-13 years old WD My Book for 1 TB. Bought for home backup. The new model has a more miniature disk activity indicator. The disk works, I would not say that it is quiet, but it is not loud either, it does not heat up much. The outer box is made qualitatively and beautifully, plastic gloss. Speeds for large files are quite high, about 180 Mb/s. Inside the box is a WDC WD40EDAZ-11SLVB0 disc made using SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording)…

    Pros
    • High-quality case, powered by 220 V
    Cons
    • SMR technology

Good hard. Only being stuck in USB is a factor that autorun takes into account (even if there are no drivers). It would appear that Plug-and-Play is functional). It comes pre-loaded with additional software from Western Digital, which takes up a total of 350 MB, as well as a driver installation file that is rather short.

Just a terrible product, very upset.

As I have already stated, the ridiculously loud rattles, as well as the table, and everything else, spread noise around the room. When Seagate is placed next to it for 6 TB, the noise is absolutely inaudible and can only be heard when the device is brought very close to the ear. It's interesting that this is the case because many people hold the opinion that WD is of higher quality; that's why I chose it. Inside, I'll work on installing rubber gaskets to see if that makes a difference.

I had a lot of movies, music, and images that needed to be stored, so I purchased an HDD. The decision was made almost instantly to go with this model. Naturally, I was a little bummed out about the loss of 200 gigabytes of storage space, but this is already a specialized kind of technology. I use this hard drive as a movie savings account, and it has served me well without any problems for the past two years. The one thing that can be frustrating is the rate at which a significant volume of…

    Pros
    • Huge loudness, zero noise, zero heat, and a lengthy cable connection.
    Cons
    • The inconvenient nature of the power source is reflected in the fact that there is not always an outlet nearby (although I should qualify this as more of a nitpick than a criticism given that I initially was aware of what I was purchasing). Actual storage space of 1.8 Terabytes, USB 2.0 port count

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

These were the least expensive choice available for the cost of the TB, as a result of this. It makes little difference which ones are taken for backups; the most important thing is that they are not from problematic HDD lines. Below are some advantages: The second, with the standard amount of the discount applied. Tenacious, the first has spent the better part of a decade hiding behind backups. No noise. Having this drawback: Came with a very small scratch right close to the LED, however I…

Quality is top notch, happy with everything.

I have a 40 GB speed of 35-40 MB per second when transferring HD movies () With its cons: not observed yet) Its pros include: An amazing disk, it doesn't heat up, everything is OK; someone wrote about a ty transfer speed, but it's not; everything is fine; someone else wrote about a ty transfer speed; it's not. It's possible that weight is a factor, but even if it is, the point still stands:

It was a reasonable purchase, I will order more.

Many write about problems with the hard drive, I had nothing like that. Never formatted, did not check for bads, everything works. Got pros: Pleasant to the touch, looks good. Quiet. Weakly heated. Stops when there is no communication. Cool white LED) Different cons: Flimsy mini-USB connector, first lost contact, then fell off completely. Worked for over a year. Data is not lost, pulled out the hard drive and continue to use with the docking station.

The purchase did not bring joy, the product is bad.

this is my third hard drive from this company, they all die almost immediately after the warranty! I won't take any more! and you are watching! Has some pros: Quiet, not heated, the price was very attractive for such a volume! With its cons: Died right after the warranty expired. and such a volume is not seen by any players and TVs! only by computer!

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not exactly what I wanted, but basically everything is fine.

Suitable strictly for home use as a replacement for internal storage in case you transfer files to another computer. Taking it anywhere with you is a big risk of losing all your precious files beyond recovery. :( Got pros: Large volume at a reasonable price. I took a little over a year ago for 2700r. Some cons: Manufacturing quality. Inside the usual WD Caviar Green. Starts slowly. External power supply and large power supply. I did not survive the fall from the system unit - I died, and I…

I took it as an additional medium for a laptop, you know, there is not enough internal memory. One minus seems to me that it increases the battery consumption of the beech, but the data transfer rate is not bad. You will come to friends and throw off what you need and it's fine. Now I'm thinking about buying the same but already at 2 TB.

I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

It has been in use for four days. All appears to be well. the standard 2TB screw. 1.8)) 5400 rpm is, of course, both a benefit and a drawback. On the one side, it doesn't become as hot, but on the other, the pace is slower than yusbi 2.0 is capable of. It's unfortunate that the case didn't have any openings. so that it would be much colder. Okay, that makes sense. so that the dust won't likely become clogged. but this is how I would handle it. There would be 4 legs along the edges and openings…

    Pros
    • cheap, horizontal, and lovely. Kind of trustworthy. I only warmed up for 45 seconds. I don't always gaze at Everest, of course.
    Cons
    • The speed is insufficient. I used it solely for torrenting, and with a download speed of 4-5 MB/s and a return speed of 3 MB/s, along with the fuzzy feature switched on for the torrent, it indicates that the disk is 20–50% overcrowded. And I must always act in this manner. Be on the distribution, at the very least. As a result, the video naturally slows down by 100%. I haven't yet watched it. good, good. 5400 rpm .

Terrible product, not satisfied with the purchase!

I purchased this particular model approximately a month ago. I instantly removed practically everything from the primary computer as well as the laptop and transferred it to a fresh drive. Everything is replicated quickly enough, and the process is completely silent. But the disc ceased operating after three weeks had passed! I am successfully connected, but there is no response (even if the indicator light is on). And despite my attempts to connect to a variety of computers running a variety…

    Pros
    • Simple to set up, and everything needed is provided. Attractive design
    Cons
    • Unreliability! Actually, it's 931 gigabytes, not 1 terabyte

Pros: Compact, quiet and doesn't get hot. Large volume. It is read without problems by the ASUS O! Play MINI media player, for which it was taken. Also long enough power cables and USB / Super! Got cons: It is detected 1-2 seconds longer than a portable WD on 500Gb Well, it's like a joke) Of course, this is not a drawback :)

The right product for me, there were no problems.

It is not necessary to transport this external hard drive from one location to another; rather, its primary purpose is for usage permanently in a single place of business. For those individuals who enjoy downloading movies, I believe that this business strategy has been a very fruitful acquisition. Below are some advantages: An excellent balance between the price and the quality. Almost no heat, even though there are no openings in the ventilation system. Very quiet. No drivers required; just…
