Short and expensive landscape lighting experiment

I've never been a big fan of solar powered decorative or landscape lights because they wear out pretty quickly. My opinion has been formed over years of working in gardens and landscapes where I have often found dead solar lights being discarded by homeowners or not lighting pathways but left optimistic if they will work again with the right amount of light. Sun, less rain, warmer temps, cooler temps, good housekeeping etc etc. Regardless, I decided to give them a try as our driveway/parking lot (in the country) needed some extra ambient lighting. it's dark like he's a double hockey stick after 5pm), nowhere to plug anything and good reviews here in the hope that solar powered outdoor decorative lighting technology has improved over the years. It's not like this. We have a stone wall along the driveway/parking lot that's almost impossible to see after the sun goes down, so I wanted to use it as a way to illuminate the wall so the lighting isn't completely obnoxious and distracting. for neighbors or wildlife and is less sticky than reflectors. I bought 4 and stuck them neatly between and along rocks with the solar panels facing south for maximum charging. They worked great for a couple of days, then one by one all the strings burned out and died. After about 10 days they were all dead. Yes, they were all switched to the "on" position. Yes, it was pretty sunny. No, they have not been subjected to extreme shocks and have not been damaged. All suggested troubleshooting methods mean nothing to them. I am very disappointed because they looked so cool but they are definitely not worth the price.
