Good product for the price. I have hundreds of old 8mm and Super 8mm films that I haven't had a chance to look at in years. The shipping for the conversion is very expensive. I'm very happy with the results I got from Wolverine MovieMaker. My first session only lasted a day before the lights went out. I contacted the manufacturer about replacing the bulb and they told me it was LED and should last a few years. They replaced my unit and the new one worked well for several days and over 20 film transfers from 50ft to 200ft each. One problem I've found is that the film advance spool often rotates forward as the frame advances, and then when the slack is removed, it snaps forward again. The result of this in transmission is a spasmodic video. My guess is that each time the slack goes away and the spool pulls again, the film registers in a different position. I found a simple solution. I simply folded a piece of cardboard and placed it between the power coil and the device. This creates a slight tension that prevents the film from winding up too quickly. Wolverine, if you're reading this, some sort of tension on the feed screw would be a better solution than my solution.
