Review on Horizon Gunmetal Ultralight Black Strap Outdoor Recreation in Outdoor Clothing by Harald Patterson

Well designed but can get expensive

I like the belt because it doesn't have a traditional buckle and it's made of thick material and durable metal. The material also slides easily through my loops, which doesn't happen with my other fabric bands. I can say that some thought went into its design. The best part is that you can adjust it to fit any move you like and the tail doesn't dangle! You can easily swap out the buckle or strap, so mix and match if you have more than one. I did protest the price a bit as they are quite expensive for a non-leather everyday belt. However, I assume you are paying for the durability and benefits listed above. I'm pretty sure it will last a lot longer than my regular leather/leather straps which wear out after a few years (and if they don't they claim to replace it for life). Its durability might be an "issue" for me because I might end up buying a few more of their belts just to diversify! Another thing I'm considering is an American company whose products are made here and if you read on their website that they talk about how to make products last forever and not fall apart quickly so you're forced to to buy them again. This goes back to my 2 year belt problem described above. I will, like everyone else, shop at a China operated Walmart as that is the only option for many products. However, I do like to support local, homegrown businesses and am willing to pay more for quality. We see some production returning to the US and this industry needs our support.
