These insulated grocery bags are very convenient. I have a membership to a warehouse club that's about 30 minutes from my house. If I stop for gas on the way home or get stuck in traffic, the frozen items in my order can start to defrost. I keep these in the car (they flatten for storage) and fill them with the frozen/cold items. While the bags aren't as thickly insulated as a cooler bag, they work well for grocery shopping. I would imagine you could throw some ice packs in to keep your groceries cold for even longer.I don't see why you couldn't also use these bags for bringing cold dishes to a party. They are cute and colorful and would right at home at a cookout or potluck.The only thing to be aware of is, you should avoid overfilling these bags. I think if you fill them with a lot of heavy items, the bottoms or the handles may rip. If you fill them thoughtfully and don't subject them to rough use, they should last quite a while.
