UPDATE: I've found that dust/dirt gets into the dustpan without getting under it if you don't push down on the dustpan handle. I hold the handle of the shovel with just a couple of fingers to keep it in place. It seems like a strange way, but it works. I had very high hopes for this as I had surgery and couldn't bend down. The handle height of the broom and dustpan is perfect. I really like the teeth that clean the broom of dog hair, fluff, etc. The broom is attached to the handle of the dustpan so it never gets lost. Unfortunately, when you try to sweep dirt in, the dirt gets under the dustpan, not in. I have to put my foot in the scoop for it to work properly.
