I don't understand the negative reviews. It is made of lightly sawn wood. If you want a shatterproof model, buy Lego. My 10 year old son and I broke a few pieces so we got some little clips from Home Depot and glued them together. That's how building things work in the real world - things break or don't work the way you expected them to, so fix them. We glued together a few pieces that made sense to glue together. It was a great experience for my son and an exercise in patience. We spend about 30 minutes on this every couple of nights and we're almost done. I think it's a brilliant design that teaches patience, agility, problem solving and engineering. This is a great way to bond with your kids.
