I have a California King 12 inch memory foam mattress. It's not easy to lift alone, but I was able to remove the included case and install it myself. And I'm a housewife who isn't in the best shape :) The case itself seemed pretty decent to me. It was listed as 9 inches thick (the thickness of your mattress), but the packaging says it stretches from 9 inches to 18 inches, which I could believe. Fits our mattress with no problems. The upper doesn't stretch very much and definitely makes noise when you move on it. If you're going to use a sheet over that, you'll also need sheet holders -- those elastic clips that hold the corners in place. Every time I turned over at night, the sheet was very slippery on this case. I ended up washing the old cover in very hot water and putting it back over this cover because it was too slippery to hold the sheet and I toss and turn a lot. Overall I really like this product, I thought it was what the manufacturer describes and my husband said he sleeps better lying on it now.
