Review on MSI Optix MAG322CQR 2560X1440 LCD: High Dynamic Range, Adaptive Sync, 165Hz – Non Glare, Curved Display by Levi Feldman

Nausea, headaches, poor color accuracy and more.

I decided to test this monitor as a replacement for one of my Samsung CJG52 32 inch monitors. I'm doing a dual monitor mixed setup because one of them has some dust particles stuck between the backlight and the screen. Experience: Nausea Almost Vomiting Motion sickness Headache Image quality is ok, but definitely no better than what I've experienced on my Samsung monitors. Colors seem a little "off" with a yellow cast and even with color calibration for 3 hours I couldn't get enough close color accuracy to my Samsung monitor which is to be expected. Black light transmission was terrible as all corners of the screen were gray and even then the blacks weren't as good when I set them to the darkest response time in the OSD settings I set to fast or the fastest didn't matter for my panel as I still got ghosting and black spots on the panel screen, which to be honest is to be expected with VA panels, but believe that with a 1ms response time you wouldn't get any of that. After a few test runs in games like Ghostrunner and Dark Souls, I had severe nausea and headaches. It got so bad I had to turn off the monitor. 165Hz was great but not a huge difference from 144Hz. Overall I'd say if you're looking to buy this monitor you really need to buckle up and brace for the worst.
