Review on πŸ’¨ High-Speed SanDisk Extreme PRO SD UHS-II USB-C Reader - SDDR-409-G46: Unleash Lightning-Fast Transfers by Sarah Gonzalez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

while - works, but. Update (5/15/2021) - NOT WORTH

Update May 2021: Every two weeks I take a lot of pictures from a V90 UHS-II card to my laptop via the USB-C port. . The supported transfer rate is the worst at 10MB/s! Although this reader claims to support UHS-II cards, which in turn allows for faster transfer speeds. read UHS-I has a higher transfer rate of 30MB/s! No matter how many gigabytes of data is transferred - the built-in UHS-I reader is still better than this reader. No ideas - but it's NOT WORTH the price and demands of a UHS-II reader and its speed. Update February 2021: I have noticed that the transfer speed consistency from the card to the Windows 10 laptop decreases significantly. Whenever I transferred less than 5GB of images, the transfer rate stayed at around 200MB/s. But most of the time my card (Sony Hardcard uhs-ii V90) is fully or fully utilized, then the transfer rate drops below 10MB/s. I ran this transfer on my laptop and did not transfer anything other than images. So I'm not sure what's going on. Or maybe I have a bad reader?! I will not use any other Sandisk card reader. Update from June 4th, 2020: This is not good! The last 3 times I've used lately and the last time I've used in the last few minutes as I write this. The transfer speed from the card (the same UHS-II card is heavy at 300MB/s) is around 50-80MB/s! This is unacceptable as this device is advertised at a much higher price! This review focuses on: SanDisk Extreme PRO SD UHS-II USB-C Reader - SDDR-409-G46. Transfer rate at 220ish MB/s. I'm using a Sony UHS-II hard drive - the transfer (read) speed is around 300MB/s. Those were the 2 times I transferred about 64GB of data from the card to my laptop. The symptom for both of these times was that according to the pop-up log, the transfer first started at 220 MB/s, towards the end, around the last minute. Windows, the transfer rate dropped to around 100 MB/s. So, at this rate, the transfer rate of my UHS-II card becomes UHS-I. This is bad! I have no way of testing it again. But I will update if I see this symptom again.
