Although this block is advertised as being made of high strength CNC aluminum with no mention of plastic, unfortunately the most critical part is made of plastic and brittle plastic. Would I trust that one with my $200 light again?! Why O Why did they make this part out of plastic and not aluminum. In general, the idea with this bike is great. I was able to mount it on my luggage rack with no problem, it's very versatile but unfortunately the plastic can break easily. To the seller's credit, they sent me another one in exchange and my Varia is fine but I definitely wouldn't trust it too much other than again a very easy smooth ride.
