HTC is very proud of this device. I really don't think it's worth the price they advertise here, maybe half yes. From my point of view, it is a Bluetooth device that will be used in certain cases. For example, a quick setup for urgent email, chat, or a simpler mobile option than a laptop. The quality is top notch although I don't have much experience with keyboard folios. Maybe that's the selling point. It's a soft suede with smart coating features so the screen turns on when you open it and vice versa. There is a nice marking along the back that shows "nexus" along with the "HTC" logo. The lid that houses the keyboard sits on top of your Nexus 9's screen. This made me a little nervous because I'd be uncomfortable with something clapping like that. Everything is actually fine, the keyboard is in a small recess surrounded by a magnetic plate that controls the smart cover function. So unless you're giving your Nexus 9 to a five-year-old, I think this tome will be able to handle an adult's day-to-day use. Don't think this is a true Otterbox replacement, far from it. The lid moves slightly to the side of the keyboard, but the spine that houses the Bluetooth and battery tries to prevent flexing as much as possible. The magnets work well on the underside where the Nexus 9 sits, strong enough that you can feel the tablet being held by this thing. Another selling point? May be. Although the platter he will be standing on in landscape mode doesn't allow for much movement. It tends to slide off the tablet if you're too rough. So I put it on a flat surface. When you get this tome and load it up, I stare at it for about an hour. The red light that indicates it's charging has never gone out for me. So let it charge for an hour or 1 1/2 and I think it's good to go. Don't overload it! They say that the charge is enough for the last few months, which is very convenient! Pairing with the Nexus 9 is easy, and if you turn on Bluetooth on your tablet, you're good to go. I usually press the spacebar so Nexus knows it's on. If you have an onscreen keyboard, it will disappear and tell you that a Bluetooth keyboard is connected. Good response time. At the end of the day you get a good folio, the quality of which I think is one of the best options for a Nexus 9. Again, this is not a case replacement. So it's up to you whether you can handle an on-screen keyboard or if you need a physical one. I gave it 4 stars because I don't think it's worth the price and because it probably does what other folio keyboards can do. The question is whether the quality matches it.
