Where is the room? Best in Bags, Cases and Sleeves

After about 4 years of use, the stitching of my favorite travel backpack - Swissgear SA 3239 - started to unravel. I need to take some tech with me when I'm traveling with two 17 inch laptops. a portable screen, Sony in-ear headphones, and the bells and whistles needed to make everything work like cables, power adapters, a mouse, etc. So I needed a sturdy backpack that would not only support the weight, but would also have lasted I like some time. I searched and searched for other Swiss gear similar to what I had and just couldn't find anything. My criteria were durability, a strong luggage strap, roominess, fitting under an airplane seat. I came across Everki Atlas. about buying something I couldn't see and decided to make the leap to the larger (17 inch) version. I have to say I'm surprised everyone is talking about how much space this pack has. This was not my experience at all and I sent it back almost immediately. I decided to try and see if it will grow with me. It looks the same on the outside, but looks can be deceiving. I filled it to the brim and still can't fit it all in the Swiss case where there was room. Cons: No headphone jack. The handrail on Everki is not very massive. I have psoriatic arthritis and it's hard to grab without severe spasms because it's too small. The middle compartment has this weird divider in the middle that I don't like and the bag is just awkward to carry on your shoulders and back. Travel: Can't speak to her, bought her for a trip to Denver in April, hence neutral rating. Storage capacity: I just don't have the experience that others have. Durability: Considering the cost of the bag, this is debatable. Not sure if it will hold up to the weight and wear and tear of travel. What I like: The open front pocket allows for quick storage. I love the felt lined top pocket. The laptop storage is pretty cool. I love the padding on the folder and the extra strap reinforcement is amazing. Are those likes enough to make you keep the bag? The time will show. Lack of extra space could be a deal breaker, and Everki Titan is just too rich for my bank account. I will keep you informed of my decision.
