The quality of the materials is quite good. The finish is like a black powder coating. You can either attach it to a table or drill a hole in the table (instructions for both methods are included). The center post is high enough that even an NBA player can work while standing at the table. However, it doesn't look unsightly large (which I was worried about). The overall value is pretty good. Here are the problems: - As with most monitor stands, you need allen wrenches for all adjustments. It's a pain in the neck when you're working at your desk and need a tool to tilt your monitor just slightly to avoid glare or to see the screen better. The manufacturer could use wing nuts or knurled/molded plastic parts with metal studs inside to allow for finger tightening and easy adjustments on the fly. But they didn't. Everything is a bit shaky and difficult to block. On the one hand you want to be able to move the monitor around a bit during the day if you need to, but if you want it to stay in place then you really want it to stay in place. With this stand, as with most others, you have to find a balance between actually tightening everything up to create a solid and stable stand, and allowing yourself to play around a bit and then deal with the monitor sagging (slightly tilted) for example. to get ready low). Wiggle a little during the day or wiggle back and forth at your standing desk. When I type this, the monitor shakes a bit from side to side just from what I'm typing. This stand is designed to work with a standing desk, and it is. But that wobble or wobble is a little annoying or distracting, and that's basically because your monitor is climbing up a large flagpole that has a bit of play. Keep in mind that if you want to lock everything, you will need to tighten the screws hard. the fact that the center/vertical stand is not aligned with the center of the monitor mount. It's hard to explain in the text, but they are moved by the crane's slewing arm. Aligning the mounting stand with the center of your desk (either for balance with a tall standing desk like mine, or just for aesthetic reasons) will offset your monitor a few inches from the center of your desk. Alternatively, if you wish to center the monitor on a table, the center/vertical post is offset a few inches to one side or the other. I know this might seem like an incredibly silly problem, but I just wanted others to know about this because I found it odd that they didn't line up.
