Great value starter lighting kit

This is the first lighting kit I have ever bought and I will be using it for my YouTube videos. To be honest this thing is amazing at a very low price and it really works. . It even comes with lightbulbs. Setup is very easy and accessible (the overhead was harder to understand and the instructions didn't help much, but otherwise the instructions worked). The light itself is too intense and direct even with a softbox, but I think anyone with a darker complexion than me will be happy with this (I'm very white so my skin reflects light like a mirror). You get what you paid for. The supports themselves are well made, but the legs aren't as wide apart as we'd like. I have a feeling that any slight movement or added weight could cause it to tip over. Due to this problem, it is almost impossible to use the ceiling light conveniently. The higher you raise the lantern, the more unstable it seems as the legs are barely apart. They also have no rubber coating on the bottom for more grip and floor protection. The material for the cover of the softbox and for the counterweight on the ceiling light looks very cheap. For a softbox, that's not a problem as it just stays there. I really wish there was better light diffusion, the light still looks very direct even when switched on. I fix this by moving the light source slightly away from the subject. The material of the counterweight bag is actually a problem. It should be a sandbag that attaches to the ceiling light beam to keep it from tipping over. I weigh the bag down the least and the seams are already starting to unravel. If you actually put the right weight on it to withstand the overhead, it's bound to break. I doubt it will last long at all, even with a light weight. Because of these overhead issues, I use it as a third, smaller light instead, and as such it works great. TLDR; This kit really works and is great for the price. Just don't expect perfection
