This is a fresh, gentle product that you can't smell for a moment after you spray it. I have a feeling it will help neutralize odors in cat and guinea pig habitats, but I wouldn't expect this spray to be your only protection plan. Consider a baking soda odor eliminator your first choice for cleaning up the trash, but I like to spray it around, especially when guests arrive.
