This brush is good in every way but I had to give it 3 stars because it smells awful. I don't know what kind of oil, varnish or stain they use to finish it, but it's uncomfortable. I actually took it out of the box and started combing my beard just to try it out and 10 minutes later I had to take a shower because my beard smelled strongly of chemicals. I washed the comb out with hot soapy water, it can now be combed through the beard without any odor, but there is still a strong chemical smell in the comb. Hope that helps
