I fixed it! Works perfectly.

So my daughter broke the connector on my $70 gaming headset! I found this replacement part and since it doesn't need soldering I bought it. Here is step by step how I fixed it. Remember, I'm a nurse, not an electronics engineer. This was pretty easy considering the tiny wires you have to work with, so take your time. Don't try to fix it, if you're under 18, ask your parents for help. Assemble: -Lighter -Scissors -Small bowl of water (just in case) -Damp paper towel -3/32-3/64 (2mm-1mm) heat shrink wire -Adhesive tape -Cut the broken connector and carefully connect the wire to the Laying You free 4 wires inside - wires on my headphones: Red - right speaker Green - left speaker Copper - ground White - microphone . twist them together. So open a window and burn (use a lighter) the ends of all 4 wires to remove the paint and reveal the copper wires inside. Wipe the charcoal with a damp paper towel. You will have to repeat the same on the spare part, since it is not open enough to rotate. Start with the extreme. Look at the parts diagram and match the color to the location. They are not interchangeable, so connect them properly. My headphones were: Red - Right Green - Left Copper - Ground White - Microphone On the spare: White - Right Red - Left Black - Ground Green - Microphone - Now cut a piece of heat shrink wire, just over 1/2" around then close bare wires.Put the wire on and leave it at the end.Gently twist the wires of the corresponding color/position.Twist several times, after fixed, put shrink wire on the twisted part and fire outward. It will shrink so gently , gently squeeze it, it's hot!(I wore gloves) - repeat until all 4 are attached - now check the sound in the headphones by connecting them to your phone, ipad or game console, if anything works - well done! Glue all 4 wires for reinforcement. It's not pretty but it works great. I'm very happy with this fix <10.00 for my headphones. I took some photos but was able to don't post here. Much luck!
