Review on Sony SP600N Wireless Noise Cancelling Sports Earbuds, Black (WI-SP600N/B) by Brittany Lawrence

Pretty good product with some flaws

Considering that wireless headphones cost around 1/3 to 3 times the price, the first lesson in buying headphones is that you get, what you get, what you get. Pay for. They cost around $100. Don't expect Bose sound because you're not paying Bose prices, but the sound is pretty good, and if you play around with the in-app equalizer you might find a setting that sounds good for your music. Don't expect the noise-cancelling you get from $300 headphones. I would describe this feature as marginal at best and unrelated to my Bose NC wired headphones. It's difficult at first to get the headphones perfectly in your ears. You have to try different sizes and positions in your ear. Being able to "seal" the earbuds in your ear canal greatly improves sound and stability. Unfortunately, if you don't stand still, the bumps move and you lose that seal. This has happened to me playing sports because the connecting cable between each earbud is quite stiff and if it's pressed against your shirt or body it can push the earpiece out of your ear. Also, the controller and battery are heavy on the cable, so depending on what you're doing, it can fall off one side and therefore pull on the opposite earbud and lose it in your ear. The cord doesn't have a clip so I'll now attach a clip from another pair of headphones and hope that by attaching the cord to the back of my shirt I can prevent it from shifting and losing the headphones.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
