Toilet drawer staple - traveled the world
I received one of these rounded end shears from the US Air Force Officer Training School in 1989. I never had them. a bad Fiskars pair of scissors, but they've proven particularly useful over the years. Compact size and rounded ends will not pierce DOP kit or luggage. The Fiskars folding scissors (B003VWHN0O) are good, but they can be dangerous for your day/night opening and closing unless you want your pants and shirt to be bloody.
