Lightweight, Reliable, Gets the Job Done

I had this altimeter for a summer camping trip so it's time to check it out. This altimeter is very light, requires no batteries, is easy to set up and tells me what I want to know. I use it to track elevation when hiking, especially on steep climbs or descents. It's good for my morale to know how far I have to go up or down. It is easy to use for this purpose. It can be read in 50ft increments at best (marks are 100ft so you can interpolate between them) but is accurate enough for me. I found the gauge ring to be stable, meaning it doesn't shift or slip. when I take the altimeter in or out of my pocket. I set the altimeter at the start of a trail with a known elevation and then everything is fine for the rest of the hike. I used to use a $300 Suunto altimeter hiking watch. The batteries regularly ran out, and then it was difficult to replace them. This Sun module is much easier to use.
