I volunteer at a school that has lecture recording and a sound system. The speaker amp sits on the bookshelf and requires someone to climb onto a stool and turn it on and off at the start and end of each lecture. Stupid setup, right? I suggested trying one of these and I can tell you it's perfect! Instead of using a Wi-Fi/smart switch to turn the amp on or off, anyone with access to the remote can control it. So the teacher can do it, or one of the students can hand over the remote to manage, and the backup remote can be kept somewhere else. No pairing, smartphone app or similar required. Set it up as a light switch, or keep it in your bag or on your desk, or just use it in your hand - it's battery operated anyway. Comes with batteries and everything you need and works as expected. Very happy with the results.
