I've bought a few BM800's over the last few years and have found that not all BM800's are created equal. As you can see, a larger 16mm mic capsule is used here, in contrast to the BM800s with the yellow mic capsule holder, which use smaller 10mm mic capsules. The USB sound card is fine. Nothing out of the ordinary, but works very well on a Mac since the MacBook doesn't have an isolated microphone input. It is shared with the headphone output, so trying to use such a microphone becomes difficult. The supplied USB audio card solves this problem. This mic works best with 48V phantom power, but 5V bias from a USB adapter is perfectly acceptable. The Springboom arm is average, nothing overpriced or professional, but buying a $35 podcast kit will get you started in the podcast world. It was also nice that the pop filter was included. It really helps you get professional sound. Overall: I would recommend it to anyone who is just starting out and wants to get into the world of home recording podcasts.
