Review on 15.6" Lenovo Ideapad laptop L340-15API 1920x1080, AMD Ryzen 5 3500U 2.1 GHz, RAM 8 GB, SSD 256 GB, AMD Radeon Vega 8, DOS, 81LW005ARK, Platinum Grey by Momchil Dilchev ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Average quality, not an outstanding product.

For the L340-15API test (I don't recall the markings), I took it from work. All I had to do was check the following things in a single day: watching videos (including HD) in the browser, watching videos through the VLC player, using Zoom for video conferencing, broadcasting on YouTube using the built-in camera, browsing the web on different websites to find information, working in Microsoft Office, installing Windows 8, and working in the database (file). The brakes were not visible to me; I will have to wait a little while. You probably won't be able to play any good games because there have been a few instances where the CPU load reached 100%. But I just need everything to go off without a hitch. I therefore purchased version 81LW0085RK for 24900 (Athlon 300U, 4GB, SSD 256GB). When it first started operating a week after the purchase, the brakes immediately became apparent: the mouse moves extremely slowly, and the buttons are only pressed about once per two to three minutes. After 15 minutes, the brakes are gone. The temperature is about 50 degrees, the processor and RAM are not loaded, and I ran an antivirus scan. The machine only slows down when it is necessary, thus I was unable to replicate the freeze. System interruptions cause the CPU to be loaded, I realized once. Most likely, there is a hardware problem here. I bring it to the service while it's still covered under warranty. The service (which involved replacing the motherboard) was ineffective; the freezes persisted. The brightness of the screen declines unevenly: first it goes gradually, then there is an instantaneous black screen, and for the duration of the night, the penultimate brightness level is still bright. C Black Sculpt Comfort Mouse from Microsoft The mouse occasionally loses connection because Bluetooth is not reliable. Windows 10's reinstallation was ineffective. 8GB of additional memory was ineffective. My laptop, model 81LW0085RK, is generally on a solid count (i.e. 1, with a minus). I do not advise purchasing. I'll try to take it back to the shop. To the service once more, the store did not come back. The laptop was paid after the second service. As of right now (06/03/2022), the laptop mostly functions. My rating has been changed to 3.

Pros
  • lightweight, affordable.
Cons
  • There are some minor issues, such as the video freezing once when playing on the page (together with the page, it seems to me that this is not a laptop-related issue) and the drivers on the Lenovo website not automatically updating. Few usb ports (just 2: mouse and flash drive, but it is resolved by adding a usb splitter (hub), so there are 3 of them (usb ports), and there is still USB-C; however, the Canon MF4010 printer does not scan through this hub. When you click on the touchpad, the mouse pointer moves out and you click somewhere else (for me, as I work more with the mouse and will continue to work with the mouse). The brightness of the screen doesn't decline gradually; it starts off evenly before turning completely black.
