These plastic wrapping bags are great for keeping my embroidery projects looking professional, all sealed and they give me peace of mind that everyday dust isn't getting onto the fibers. But when I wanted to remove one of the plastic bags to take a new photo, the tape came off the plastic bag and I had to take out the new packaging bag (no big deal). Then I noticed the smell coming from the fabric and fibers. I thought maybe it was because I had smoked during the making of this particular project, although I had washed the fabric and fibers I decided not to sell them or to sell them as planned. I quit smoking completely in November 2020. Then a few days later (February 18, 2021) I went to photograph a very recent project in a bag that was less than a week old, it smelled like it. Same general smell but not as strong. I sat there shaking my head. I washed the fabric well after quitting smoking. I wash all my projects with safe soap upon completion (no marks or odors before these bags came into my life) and rinse thoroughly, then heat dry and then air dry. Then I wondered if plastic bags could smell like plastic. I stuck my nose in the bag and took a weird deep breath - I now regret a lot of things in my life, but this was the most momentary regret I've ever felt. I decided to air all my projects and then wash them hoping to get rid of the plastic smell. I will not use these bags for my projects. However, I'm sure they work well with things I haven't found a reason for yet (but definitely not food).
