The handles detach from the bag on both sides.
I like this bag, but it turned out not so practical. I bought it in May and it's already falling apart. I'm so sad. Maybe it would be nice if you didn't put anything in it, but if you're a mom and carry more than one handbag, don't get this type of bag.
