Review on Dell P2418HT 23 8 Touch Monitor 60Hz, Touchscreen, ‎FBA_P2418HT, IPS by Roy Elia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great monitor for the price

I used this monitor with my laptop. I wanted it to be wide so I can have 2 windows side by side while writing my reports. I also wanted a touchscreen and didn't want to spend a fortune. While not perfect, it meets all my needs. I've been using it almost daily for over 2 months now and am very happy with the features and performance of this monitor. What I like: - Super light for its size, I can easily pick this screen and move it around when needed - The stand is solid and allows you to raise, lower and tilt the monitor for comfortable use - Connection was easy. Some said they had issues but I found the instructions easy and managed to get it set up and connected in just a few minutes - did I mention it's touchscreen right? This feature worked flawlessly for me. I like that it doesn't flicker. I am very sensitive to changes in light on the monitor or television. It's an LED and has no noticeable flicker, so no migraines. Screen quality is good for web browsing, working with documents, and even occasional graphics work. The price makes this a great value. What I didn't like: The graphics aren't crisp. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. If you mainly work with graphics, this probably isn't the best monitor for you. You'll hardly notice it when you're working with text or surfing the web - the port cover is difficult to attach. Once the monitor is set up and all the cables are connected, it should snap over them, perhaps for protection from dust or perhaps for cleanliness. The problem is that it runs under and behind the monitor. Unless I remove the monitor from the stand, this area is difficult to access. I rotated the monitor and tried to blindly force the tabs into the slots and then snap onto the cables resisting the lid. It didn't work and I left it there because I think it's a lot more trouble than it's worth. If they need dust protection, then it should be a swing door. This useless piece of plastic is just cluttering up my space.
