These magnets are as strong or maybe even stronger than advertised. But I'm glad I only needed 8 as they are very fragile and after I separated one it was ripped from my fingers by the force of the stack and when they reassembled the loose one fell apart. It happened twice (RIP). I like their thickness but not because they are too thin and almost brittle. If you can live with about twice the thickness, I would recommend this option. If you want something that subtle, then great as long as you handle them appropriately. The bottom line is that if you separate one from the stack and then place it on the table and then have it picked up from the "stack" it will break when they come together with that kind of force. It is important to understand that this is not a magnet to magnet issue. This is only a problem when a "stack" of multiple magnets picks up a shared one. I just separated them all and put them on the fridge door. The riskiest time to work with them is when you first get them and they're all "stacked" together. Make sure you separate them one at a time and move the separated ones AWAY from the stack, preferably by simply sticking them to one surface while separating the rest in the same way. This is an excellent product when managed properly.
