My cat chewed through the power cord from my wife's laptop. He does it. He loves this cable as well as the unbraided USB cables. Eventually it will cause the cable to stop working, so that's what I got. I checked it. Is working. Large selection of chargers. It may take a few tries, but once you find a match, plug it in and you're good to go. It also costs several times less than ordering a replacement charger from HP.
