Review on πŸ›’ Efficient Polyurethane Stepped Bearing for Bulk Shopping by Cho Screeton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent replacement for pneumatic impellers.

The tires on my Creeper had to be pumped up almost every time I used it. I took them all apart, checked the internal pipes for leaks, added grease and replaced the valve stems; but they still constantly lose air pressure between uses. Newer versions of this Creeper come with solid tires, but factory replacement wheels are ridiculously expensive when shipping is included. There is a lot of ground clearance under the Creeper, so I decided to try these 5" wheels instead of the original 6" wheels. . The wheels are mounted and run very smoothly. Solid tires are stiff enough to stay on the road, soft enough to be quiet and comfortable, and smooth enough to turn very easily. They also come with plastic dust caps that snap open to protect the bearings and prevent the wheel hub from rubbing against anything. The only issue I found was that the included fasteners thread poorly and require more force than they should assemble. I wanted to cut all the threads; But since the new wheels fit perfectly with the original Creeper axle bolts, I simply reused them. The nuts and bolts provided with the wheels are 3/8-16 (3/8" - 16 threads per inch) and will fit a 9/16" wrench/socket. Because they do not have clean threads, they are easily confused with M10-1.5 (14mm wrench/head); So be careful if you plan to refill them or use other devices. The Creeper now moves and turns much easier than before (even with fully inflated tires) and the wheels feel solid enough that I expect they will continue to do so for a long time. The photos show one of the new 5" wheels with one of the old 6" wheels - each with and without a dust cap, and the new wheels on the landing gear (with the old wheel for comparison). ).
