I have been using Drymate toilet mats for a while. The local store was sold out so I bought from Revain which is nice because there are more color options. I really like the blue and white rug and it looks great in my bathroom. Of course, kittens don't care what color they are, but MamCat doesn't. I buy a 20" x 28" size and cut it in half because it's the size of kitty litter, so I get two of these. I have never machine washed them, but I have hand washed them. They hold up well and keep the floor dry when my big one doesn't quite fit in the crate. He has very severe arthritis, but at 18.5 he feels pretty good. Mom likes these rugs and gives him dignity. :)
