Review on πŸŽ’ 17 Inch Case Logic VNB 217BLACK Backpack by Nicole Bryant

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money, lots of space but not too big. More padding could have been used in the right places.

Reasonable price makes it profitable. I use it for my HP ENVY 17" LEAP Motion (2014) laptop. Which I like (but Leap Motion is useless). Notebook dimensions: 16.38" x 10.8" x 1.21" with a weight of 6.1 lbs. Large notebook i7. The laptop fits perfectly in this bag and there is space. I also carry a large power adapter, a mouse pad, a wireless laptop mouse, two wireless Xbox 360 controllers with USB receivers, and other items in this bag where space is available. Pros: great price, lots of space, just a backpack. The padding on the back and between sections is great. Cons: The padding on the bottom is very minimal. I wouldn't trust installing this too quickly and certainly wouldn't drop it. The bottom pad is pretty useless as a pad. I will eventually add my own padding so it's good that I have enough room for that. Side padding is missing. And there is no top padding. So if you have a bag with your laptop in it on a chair and it bounces and lands on it (happened to me) it doesn't help much. Luckily my laptop survived. The bottom plate is a big problem. It's too thin for starters. Also, it's narrower than the bottom of the backpack, meaning that in my case, the padding moves forward, leaving no padding between my laptop and the bottom. Case Logic really needs to use at least the same padding as the back. And if possible, double that space for a laptop. It will be a cheap addition.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • So-so
