CLOSED HEAD! My 4 month old German Shepherd puppy can fit his head over the railing!

So my husband spent a few days searching the internet for a pet gate and came across this beauty. I liked absolutely everything about these gates: color, quality, ease of use. Once screwed into the walls of our entryway, the gate kept our bouncy, energetic German Shepherd puppy pretty much in check. Three weeks after installation, my husband and I are talking in the kitchen, looking down and seeing our beautiful GS puppy with his head stuck between the railings. She's quite a big puppy and I literally almost had a big puppy. The Incredible Hulk's adrenaline started pumping and I was able to react quickly and I had to open the railing where her head was and carefully pull her out. Her GS ears prevented her from pulling out, so I'm not sure what would have happened if my husband and I hadn't been there when she did. Railings have some downsides and I think people should be aware of that. My husband ended up having to tie some light panels across the railing (middle and sides) so she couldn't do it again. Until she gets bigger and more heady, and even then we'll have to keep an eye on her so it doesn't happen again! It was absolutely insane, and it happened not just once, but twice. Hence the trim! The only thing stopping us from returning these goals is that they are so wonderful apart from that 'little' flaw. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for that. Again, I just thought that others should be aware. I'm attaching a photo of the modified gate and the "slender-headed" pup! This photo shows that she is not small.
