I have a rottweiler and although she is still a puppy she is a big puppy and can stand on him and he holds up because he has been heavy for 7 months. This gate is perfect. We need to keep our dog off one side of the house. First she tried another gate that was retractable, and on the third day she figured out how to get under it. Pass. We have a 75lb Aussie Pyr 1 year old with incredible agility who loves jumping fences and it has worked so far! We have a height of 39 inches, so he can't jump over it. It can slide right over our 29 inch gates. We've had it for about two months and so far he hasn't jumped or even tried to jump over it.
