I use this product for my 3 and 5 year olds who are terrible nail biters. The way it's made discourages them from putting their hands in their mouths, but doesn't prevent it. The resistance he offers reminds them of that, but they can still put their hands in their mouths while putting them on. I started wearing them backwards which was a turn. I placed the piece of metal along the inside of the elbow instead of the back. You can't bend your elbow like that. However, the Velcro fasteners are easy to undo as each child can take them off themselves. So if you have a child who doesn't want to wear them, you can just take them off. My kids wear them to watch TV so they don't bite their nails mindlessly. They knew they had to wear them to TV. So don't complain and keep it. After the transmission time has expired, they delete them independently.
