Okay, I'll admit mine was one of those that arrived a little smelly. However, what do you expect from a $90 alpaca? I've dealt with worse smelling wool. and yes, nowadays we all expect everything to come to us in perfect condition. Well instead of paying over $200 I want and buy a $5 bottle of Woolite and a cheap hair conditioner. I put this poncho "by hand" (I "mashed" it with a mop) in a tub of cold water for an hour after washing and rinsing 3 times. Then I used a cheap hair conditioner because it's hair and then set up a cold shower and kept twisting and squeezing to wash off the excess. I put it in my garage to dry over a stepladder for the day and BAM, it smells great now. Seriously, it only lost a star because of the smell and the extra work I put in, but at the same time I can say I helped make this my own AND I have a heck of a price for it paid for an alpaca poncho that I'll use in the woods.
