Review on 15.6" Lenovo Ideapad L340-15API 1920x1080, AMD Ryzen 5 3500U 2.1 GHz, RAM 4 GB, SSD 128 GB, AMD Radeon Vega 8, DOS, 81LW0056RK, Platinum Grey by Michal Adach ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nothing unusual, a normal product.

I borrowed it from my employer in order to study for the L340-15API exam (I can't recall the score). In just one day, I was able to complete all of the following tests: watching videos (including HD) in the browser; watching videos through the VLC player; working in ZOOM (video conferencing); broadcasting on YouTube from the built-in camera; surfing the Internet on various sites (information search); working in a Microsoft Office; installing 1s 8; and working in the database. All of these tests were successful (file). I did not realize that the brakes were engaged; nonetheless, these are not the brakes that were engaged. There were a few instances in which the CPU load reached up to 100%; therefore, it is quite unlikely that you would be able to play good games. But all I require is for everything to begin operating normally without any problems. As a consequence of this, I decided to get the version 81LW0085RK (Athlon 300U, 4GB, SSD 256GB) for the price of 24900 in. One week after the product was bought, when it first began to function, the brakes were activated. The mouse moves extremely, extremely slowly, and the buttons are pressed even more slowly, only once every two to three minutes. After 15 minutes, the brakes are no longer available. The processor and memory are not at their maximum capacity, the temperature is hovering around fifty degrees, and I ran an antivirus scan on it. I was not able to replicate the freeze because the computer only slows down when it is absolutely necessary. Once at a time, I became aware that system interrupts cause the processor to become busy. This is most likely a problem with the hardware. I take it to the service center while it is still under warranty. Even after having the service performed (having the motherboard replaced), the system continued to freeze. The brightness of the screen falls in an unpredictable manner: at first, it moves smoothly, and then quickly a black screen appears; yet, the brightness level just before the final one is still rather bright. The Bluetooth on the C Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse Black is not user-friendly, and it causes the mouse to occasionally lose its connection. Reinstalling windows 10 didn't help. Even increasing the amount of memory to 8 GB had no effect. In general, the count for my laptop, model number 81LW0085RK, is a solid one (that is, 1) with a minus. Purchasing is not something I encourage doing. I'm going to make an effort to take it back to the store. Nonetheless, the store did not return once more to the service. Once it had been used for the second time, the laptop had earned. The laptop is functional, to a certain extent, at the moment (06/03/2022). I'm changing my rating to 3.

Pros
  • Easy on the wallet and not too heavy.
Cons
  • There are some minor issues, such as the fact that the drivers on the Lenovo website do not automatically install and you have to do it by hand, and that the video occasionally stops playing when it's being viewed on the page (together with the page, it seems to me that this is not because of the laptop), Few USB ports (just two: mouse and flash drive, but it is remedied by installing a USB splitter (hub), technically there are three of them (usb ports), there is still usb-c, and I linked the hub to it via a usb-c connection; however, the Canon MF4010 printer does not scan through this hub. (for me, because I work more with the mouse, and will continue to work with the mouse): when you click on the touchpad, the mouse pointer moves out of the way, and you click in a different location. The brightness of the screen does not fade away in a linear fashion; at first, it fades away evenly, and then it immediately becomes completely dark.
