The floor is actually two separate pieces held together only by a rug. There was a washer which looked like an extra detail as it wasn't shown in the instructions but I figured it was to support the two bottom pieces so they wouldn't fold. Unfortunately the bottom isn't strong enough to hold the two pieces together with just a washer and it split the material in half. I was able to reinforce the bottom with some boards I had but for the price I expect much better quality. The second picture shows how the tower ends when my cat jumps off.
