Patience is indeed a virtue! Take your time!

This is my first attempt at a canopy film. 2015 Subaru Forester XT car. I will say that the paste turned out to be less than perfect, but I'm not upset that this is my first work, and only me. No help. Many people complain about the thickness and how difficult it is to work. Yes, but I think that just comes from the experience with this material. Flew the first 3/4 of the hood and. I really struggled to get it right afterwards. It took a long time to listen and stretch again. Overall this is a…

Works best with vinyl

This product works as advertised. It looks great and was easy to apply to my hood, which thankfully is pretty flat. A quick note: As with any project, success or failure begins with preparation, the right tools, and skills. If someone tries to apply the film to an unprepared or damaged surface, problems will arise. Certain curves require the right applicator and heat gun, but above all it takes skill. If you drive through deep turns, corners or edges, you may need additional practice material…

Looks great! But the adhesive is peeling off the vinyl

Let me first say that once installed it looks amazing! I would like to use it in many places and have it on hand if people want some carbon fiber in their interiors. Well maybe the roll I received was defective but so far I've tried installing this vinyl on a few tracks. And like other carbon fiber imitation vinyls, it is a bit thick and difficult to get fine details on it. This in itself is not a problem. The main problem I had with this vinyl is that it doesn't stick well at all. I even tried

Nothing for beginners: Outdoor accessories

I've never laid foil. It was a good price in case something went wrong. It didn't go well. I was trying to box the trunk of my 2002 wrx. I've watched a lot of tutorial videos but I kept getting a lot of blisters even when I was dragging. I had a heat gun but it didn't help much. I don't blame the company, I blame myself more. Perhaps the barrel was angled too sharply, making it too difficult for a beginner. I've attached a picture of the blisters I had which weren't the worst but when I had to…

Forged Carbon: Good material, unique, good stickiness

I decided to wrap my Stratocaster's fairing and chose Forged Carbon. Not sure why others are having issues as this is VERY good for me. I carefully prepared by cleaning the surface with alcohol several times. I also warmed up the vinyl (with backing) a bit with my old school hair dryer before applying; This activates the glue. FORGED CARBON FIBER looks cute but doesn't really look like forged carbon fiber. Appears as a semi-holographic black/grayscale forest camouflage. You can see the patterns

Take your time!: Vinyl

I have to agree with other statements. "Professional Material" This will be my second wrap job. I opted for a green chrome mirror finish for my first attempt and failed miserably. I really learned a lot from the first time. For your first try I'd go with something more forgiving, like no chrome :p Once you've received your vinyl I highly recommend unrolling it and laying it on the floor for about an hour. It's much easier to work with when it wants to stay flat like a piece of paper. 1. Pre-cut

Borderline Real, a very comfortable carbon vinyl for beginners.

Better than 3m 1080 and Dinoc, more realistic. You really need to plan what you're packaging to get the most out of your vinyl. If this is your first time using Vvivid vinyl (this was the first time I've used their vinyl) you might find that it's easy to apply and has air release technology. However: in some cases I feel the adhesive is a bit weaker than 3m or Oracal, it's not a big deal but in tight corners it does matter. This vinyl looks most realistic from a distance and around curved…

NO STICKY PROPERTIES

So although I'm new to the pack I have a few different brands and types to work with. This is the worst crap I've ever used. I had better luck with cheap Chinese goods than with this crap. It has zero glue. Once heated, this material literally doesn't stick to itself. MFG says it needs to be heated to 192f before it sticks. This has many problems when working with interior decoration. 1. You cannot heat an ABS finish more than 200f without risking warping. 2. This crap has a "memory" function…

Not the fault of Revain or vvivid themselves, just my personal opinion.

So this review is meant to draw the attention of anyone looking to buy this carbon sheet. First let me say that it was my personal fault for not doing enough research on the vinyl before purchasing it, not the fault of vvivid or Revain themselves. The stuff I was working with was absolutely horrible, it was extremely heavy getting off my car and extremely hard to push down and when i tried to get it off it ripped the paint off my car because the adhesive on the back of the film was much more…
