I'm using this with a 2016 Ford Expedition EL 4x4 and 27' travel trailer (4800# dry / 7000# gross). It is a 1999 Sunline Solaris, which I believe tend to be a bit tongue-heavy. I had to max out the head tilt and only have one extra notch on the hangers, so any heavier and this wouldn't be adequate. My setup is nicely level with an appropriate amount of 1" of sag. The factory tires on the truck are 35psi recommended, but 51 PSI max. Running at 50 PSI with this system, the ride is solid and…
2020 F150 Max Tow package pulling 2020 35’ bunkhouse camper. This is awesome! I had the old chain and bar style weight distribution hitch and it did a fine job of distributing the weight but the sway of the trailer was unreal. I couldn’t get over 50mph with out the camper swaying so I added a tension style sway bar and it did nothing. So after lots of looking I bought this hitch and it is unbelievable how it feels now. There is no sway, there is no bounce, I can do 65mph and not even realize…
I purchased this hitch after returning a different brand that arrived in a poorly packaged container, resulting in missing essential parts. I don't know how UPS keeps delivering these things when they weigh more than 100#. I needed this hitch in order to take delivery of an RV 750 miles from my home. If it hadn't worked properly, that trip would have been stressful and dangerous. The RV mechanic installed the hitch on my Toyota Tundra according to the Curt instructions. The hitch allowed the…
Pros
Easy install. Took all sway out of the tow. Much smoother ride as well!
Very easy to install. Be mindful of the trailer brake box on the trailer tongue when installing, I have a 24 foot enclosed v-nosed dual axel car hauler and the brake control box was in the way. Some minor adjustments to make things fit. This leveler & anti sway is amazing. It does it’s job and is 100% worth the money. It makes a major difference when the trailer is under load or empty.
Pros
Works awesome and easy to install. Can back and turn the trailer with the bars attached.
First I am a huge fan of Curt products. The reason I went with Curt was to find options for antiquated chain supported weight distribution hitch designs.OK.Purchased this item for a stock Chevy 2015 2500HD. Revain recommended this product specifically for the 2015 2500HD. The receiver shank that arrived with the 17500 TruTrack was 5" short for the 2017 Jayco trailer it was to mate to. Called Curt to make sure I was assembling the hitch assembly correctly and they said the 2500 HD was to…
Pros
CORROSION-RESISTANT. This weight distribution hitch with sway control is finished with a highly durable carbide black powder coat to withstand the rigors of the outdoor elements
I just installed this product. The instructions were off as far as the starting point for adjustments. I previously installed hitches for a living so I am not a novice at this. The proper adjustments involve tilting the head. In the furthest tilt position I could not close the coupler on my trailer. After about 2 hours I finally got the adjustments as close as possible to ideal. The front of the tow vehicle (2013 RAM 1500) raises about 1/4" and the rear drops about 1 and 3/8". My only…
Pros
Easy to install and weight distribution w/ sway control
Best thing we installed to tow our Travel Trailer. We own a 3500lbs single axle travel trailer and before the WD with sway control from curt, we couldn’t go over 55mph on the highway without experiencing trailer sway. Now we can safely cruise at 65-70mph.
I've been using this on my 3500 lbs single axle travel trailer for over a year now, and it works awesome. The sway control is a huge help, especially because the single axle trailer would sway a lot while driving. With this system attached, it is so much better, I could not be happier! I keep it lubed up with a few shots of grease here and there, which is easy to do with the lube zerks, and I just use a finger to physically put a little grease on the metal ball detents. It was easy enough to…
Pros
Works really well, very stable and safe does the work you need it to do.
This weight distribution hitch makes towing my 28 foot cargo hauler much more manageable. It does exactly what it says it will do. Takes a bit to set-up properly, but works great. Note, you cannot backup with the bars attached, unless you are going straight back.
Got this to use with my wife's Kia Sorento to pull our concession trailer.
Arrived with box heavily damaged and missing the L piece to lock bars in place. Called Curt hitch and they sent me new ones the next day.Very well built.
Pros
Does what it's supposed to. Better then the old style.
Only complaint is that the placement of the bolts at times seems to be intentionally positioned at the worst possible place causing an unnecessary escalation of difficulty in the installation process.
heavier than expected but after closest install height, took it on 40 mile run and at 70mph no hands on wheel, still rode straight. Love not having chains and backing up without removing the bars is a big advantage.
The hitch is great and easy to install. It made a huge difference in towing. My only issue is the cheap pins it came with we lost one on the drive and that could have caused a serious wreck. We thought we only had issues with that one so we replaced it with one from lowes that was a little bit thicker. That one stayed and we ended up losing the second pin on our next drive. I get there is a lot of weight on the bars and the chances of them coming out without the pin may be unlikely it is still…
Works great no worries about backing up. Was a little concerned when package arrived (ahead of schedule :) ) about missing parts. Box was in bad shape and torn, only part missing was a clevis pin. Would recommend hitch to anyone looking.
Be aware, even if they show it will work on your vehicle and indicate the package includes everything you need, it might not without spending another 130 dollars! It showed it would fix my car, but without buying a replacement part from them to make it fit, for about $130, it won't. I called their customer support twice and was told they wouldn't do anything to resolve this, I could either return this through Revain (it weights 110 pounds by the way so returning it would cost big $$$) or buy…
My first one came with the box damaged and one of the bars missing ! Curt was zero help I tried to just have them send me another bar ended up having to ship it back for 60 dollars then Revain reimburse me ! The second on came well packaged but the shank is to short for my 2017 f250 so I had to order another longer shank for 100 bucks!
This hitch was not too hard to install. The instructions were pretty clear and I had no issues setting it up. It has made an incredible impact on reducing the sway on my travel trailer. I pull a 34 ft trailer with my F-150 and I had a significant issue with sway. I am much more comfortable driving with this hitch than I was before and I would do all I can to not have to drive without it again. The hitch itself is pretty heavy and would not be very easy for someone in their older years to pick…
Pros
My husband loves this hitch. The fact he can back up without doing any disconnect is so easy.
Unfortunately had to return, due to my trailer having to aggressive of an angle for the mounting brackets. But product seemed very solid. However this will not work on every trailer the same way a chain style system will.
Pros
Weight Distributing Hitches
Cons
Can be challenging to connect or disconnect the trailer
