This is the cutest little mod to add to your Mini! It comes with a variety of stickers that even have a tab on the end to easily reveal the second sticky side when you're ready to apply them. This is a nice touch that makes installation a lot easier! If you read the product description it says that on arrival it does not scratch but peels off the protective plastic outer layer. True, it looks scratched, but it's not - just remove the outer plastic. Mine was more difficult to install because I also added a phone holder to the back of the tachometer. This checkered piece does not include the screw holes that need to be aligned on the back of the speedometer where the phone holder attaches. So my husband and I drew the outlines of the bolt holes with chalk and then pressed this checkered piece against the tachometer, effectively marking the location of the bolt holes on the inside of the checkered piece. There are small pieces of rubber that fit into the tachometer screw holes to effectively hold the phone holder in place, so we also had to mark their placement within the spot already marked. My husband then drilled holes in the tachometer's checkered plastic cover so we could still attach the phone holder. In the end we had to work hard - BECAUSE of the phone holder. Without a phone holder, this would be much, much, much easier. In the end everything worked out. Looks great, you don't realize it's just a plastic case and I smile just looking at it! overall win!
