In general I like it, but I must say, when I opened it, I immediately started sneezing, the room was filled with this smell. I took it outside to air out and decided to hand wash the bed. Wow! Something was coming out of him like red-brown mud, and there was a lot of it! I can say it was never used so I don't know what it was. I also hand washed the backing myself in a tub with a little detergent because it's a foam lining and if you apply too much it takes a long time to finish. Exit. I didn't see anything in it, which I'm happy about, but I wanted to make sure. I like the carrier, it's roomy inside for my 5 lb Chi. I feel it should be soft enough to fit under an airplane seat without disturbing your pet inside, at least for my little Chi. So will it be. I'll update this soon if I use it on an upcoming trip.
