This is my favorite switch housing. I have a Skull & Co. case, but I've found that the shape of the handles can cause more discomfort over time than a bare Switch, so I bought this because I basically thought I would mainly use it use with a valve. Since I received it and have been using it for a few days, I mostly use it without the lid and it's much more comfortable to hold my switch in my hand. I have relatively small hands and the shape of the handles on the back is perfect for me. The case is fairly thick and very durable on the Switch - it feels a lot more solid because you don't get the same amount of Joy-con flexibility as you would without the case. There's a natural creaking noise from the Switch itself that doesn't go away just because the Joy-Cons are detachable, but otherwise this case feels almost as solid as the Switch Lite (which I also own) and other than the Switch's weight (in the compared to Switch Lite) makes it easier to play handheld for extended periods of time. The feel of this case is very pleasant; The description says it's "soft TPU" and it's very accurate. It feels a bit matte; not as soft as a silicone iPhone case, but thicker and stronger. Still very soft to hold the switch to greatly reduce Joy-con's flex. The texture on the grips is also very nice, although not too textured to avoid chafing your hands while playing. The edges are slightly beveled, which can sometimes be irritating when my hand rests on them in a certain way, but now that I've been using the case for a few days, that's no longer the case. Small things that prevent me from considering it as "ideal" (and this, of course, does not happen) - the footboard is covered, and the clasp is inferior to the magnetic clasp. I've never used the official Switch Lite magnetic flip case (I bought the Genki Force Field while still waiting for it to ship), but I've used other magnetic flip cases on other devices. This closure is not the best in this case. It doesn't squeeze very easily; I do what other reviewers have suggested by attaching it and then adjusting the magnetic backing to tighten it. If there was a magnetic closure on the front it would be much better. But since I don't really use the flip cover unless I'm taking the Switch to work or something, it works great for me. I have attached some photos to better illustrate this case. I originally rationalized buying the Switch Lite because I played the full Switch handheld more often and it tended to feel "too heavy" or cause hand/arm fatigue. either without a case or with a Skull & Co case. The Switch Lite is definitely lighter and easier to hold in your hand for longer periods of time. However, since having this case, I've felt a lot more comfortable playing on a full-fledged Switch handheld. It's still heavier than the Switch Lite, but now I don't have the hand fatigue/discomfort that I had before. I will definitely buy the Switch Lite version at some point! Edit: This case works with Skull & Co joystick covers. / Thumb Grips! Not sure if this will work with the cat paw types I have on the Switch Lite as they are larger/more prominent.
